Cynthia is a Colorado native and has been with Valverde for twelve years and has served different roles. She loves working with parents, coordinating community events and serving students. Her passion is helping students believe in themselves and their goals. When not at work, she is busy spending time with her five daughters and her husband. Cynthia loves food, music and coffee!
Cynthia ha estado con Valverde durante doce años y ha desempeñado diferentes roles. Le encanta trabajar con los padres, coordinar eventos comunitarios y servir a los estudiantes. Su pasión es ayudar a los estudiantes a creer en sí mismos y en sus metas. Hanna is in her 8th year working at Valverde, and has been serving students as a School Social Worker throughout DPS since 2010. She believes that every child deserves to experience equity and joy in education, and sees this around her on a daily basis at Valverde! A child of Swedish immigrants, Hanna is a multilingual proud mother of two Valverde boys, ages 9 and 10. You can find Hanna dreaming big, adding books to her “to read” list, drinking too much coffee and too little water and above all, living life through her children’s eyes as much as possible. Hanna calls Maine home.
Hanna está en su octavo año trabajando en Valverde y ha estado sirviendo a los estudiantes como trabajadora social escolar en DPS durante más de una década. Ella cree que todos los niños merecen experimentar equidad y alegría en la educación, ¡y ve esto a su alrededor a diario en Valverde! Hello, I am Kate Hutson and I am the Gifted and Talented teacher at Valverde. Throughout my tenure with DPS, I have worked as a classroom teacher, Interventionist and MLE teacher for a variety of age groups. I received my undergraduate degree from University of Kansas and my Master’s in Second Language Learning from University of Colorado, Boulder. Looking forward to a fabulous year!
Hola, soy Kate Hutson y soy la maestra de Dotados y Talentosos en Valverde. A lo largo de mi permanencia en DPS, he trabajado como maestra de salón de clases, intervencionista y maestra de MLE para una variedad de grupos de edad. Kris is excited and honored to serve as the the new school counselor at Valverde Elementary. This marks her twenty-fourth year in education. Throughout her educational career, she has had the great pleasure of working at both the elementary and secondary level serving as a teacher, school psychologist, school counselor, and school leader. In addition, she has been fortunate to fulfill these roles in various states, including Idaho, Michigan, Wisconsin and Colorado. No matter the role in education, she always returns to her core belief that ALL students can learn. She is committed to fostering an inclusive, safe educational environment where EVERY Student Succeeds. She looks forward to making a positive impact towards equity and excellence at Valverde and collaborating with the staff and families to ensure that all students continue to grow academically, emotionally, and socially. Outside of school, she can be found exploring the outdoors with dogs, Banjo & Ruby, hiking, kayaking, skiing, camping, traveling, and enjoying bluegrass music. Valverde Elementary is truly a special place to be and she is thankful to have the opportunity to be a part of this special community!
Kris está emocionada y honrada de servir como la nueva consejera escolar en la Primaria Valverde. Este es su vigésimo cuarto año en educación. A lo largo de su carrera educativa ha tenido el gran placer de trabajar tanto en el nivel primaria como secundaria sirviendo como maestra, psicóloga escolar, consejera escolar y líder escolar. Además, ha tenido la suerte de desempeñar estas funciones en varios estados, incluidos Idaho, Michigan, Wisconsin y Colorado. No importa el papel en la educación, ella siempre vuelve a su creencia fundamental de que TODOS los estudiantes pueden aprender.
