Travis Branum has been a teacher since 2012, but joined the Valverde family in 2019. He has taught in both Denver and in Cali, Colombia. Mr. Branum firmly believes that education should be used to bring equity and positive change to our world. He is passionate about teaching students who speak Spanish and other languages and bridging Spanish to English. Mr. Branum wants all students to be proud of their cultural heritage and to feel comfortable with who they are as individuals. He is from Oregon, but has also lived in several other places. Mr. Branum received his BA in Spanish from the University of Oregon and his Master of Arts in Teaching from Brown University. When not teaching, he can be found exploring the mountains of Colorado or the deserts of New Mexico, playing with his Chihuahua, Chela, or cooking with his wife, Graciela.
Travis Branum ha sido maestro desde 2012, pero se unió a la familia Valverde en 2019. Ha enseñado tanto en Denver como en Cali, Colombia. Branum cree firmemente que la educación debe utilizarse para aportar equidad y cambios positivos a nuestro mundo. Le apasiona enseñar a estudiantes que hablan español y otros idiomas y unir el español al inglés. El Sr. Branum quiere que todos los estudiantes estén orgullosos de su herencia cultural y se sientan cómodos con quienes son como individuos. Es de Oregón, pero también ha vivido en varios otros lugares. El Sr. Branum recibió su Licenciatura en Español de la Universidad de Oregon y su Maestría en Enseñanza de la Universidad de Brown. Kaitlin Santoro is going into her 13th year of teaching. Although this is her first year with the Valverde community, she has been a teacher in the neighborhood for 7 years. Originally from NYC, she has found her home in Southwest Denver. She believes in the potential of all her students, and believes that learning should be fun! When she is not at work, Kaitlin enjoys snowboarding, skiing, rock climbing, seeing live music and spending time with her husband, Mike and her dog, Aila.
Kaitlin Santoro está por cumplir 13 años de enseñanza. Aunque este es su primer año con la comunidad Valverde, ella es maestra en el barrio desde hace 7 años. Originaria de Nueva York, encontró su hogar en el suroeste de Denver. Ella cree en el potencial de todos sus estudiantes y cree que aprender debe ser divertido. Cuando no está en el trabajo, a Kaitlin le gusta hacer snowboard, esquiar, escalar rocas, ver música en vivo y pasar tiempo con su esposo, Mike, y su perra, Aila.
